I have InstallShield 2012-Express Version 18 SP1 installed on a Windows XP Professional SP3 machine and have been using the product successfully for several months.

However, since several Windows Updates were installed over the last few days, InstallShield now hangs during the 'Extracting COM Data' phase. Monitoring the CPU activity, after an arbitary amount of time the CPU activity suddenly drops to %0 and I have to terminate InstallShield 2012.

We are going to try to rollback the machine to before the recent Windows Updates to see if the fixes the problem but is there a hotfix or a workaround for this problem?
