    Silent uninstall switches.

    I have a third party product that I install with in my own one by executing it's setup.exe file in silent mode.
    When I uninstall my product I also need to uninstall that product too.
    What are the command line switches I need to use in order to silently uninstall it?
    I tried /x /uninst but still got a Yes/No dialog asking me if I really would like to uninstall it.

    Thank you.

    Hi xmozart,

    try "Msiexec.exe /qn /x{Productcode}" for uninstalling

    It does nothing. I tried it with /x{} only, and got the following message:
    "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

    Can it be because the setup is not an MSI project but InstallScript project?
    Any other ideas?

    Thank you.

    Thumbs up Uninstall for any Symantec product

    If product code does not work, try reg key instead
    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\ WINDOWS\CURRENT VERSION\UNINSTALL registry key and do a search for the subkey "symantec"
    The key will be the same as long as sav version is same
    Install pstools/psexec-remote utility by sysinternals/M$
    from here;

    Type this in from the location where you installed psexec:
    psexec \\computer1,computer2 -u domain\domain_admin -p password MsiExec.exe /qn /x{50E125D1-88E5-48CE-80AE-98EC9698E639} REMOVE=ALL /passive /promptrestart
    You can enter a list of computers(txt)-just type in psexec /? and follow the guide.
    Just tried it and worked like a charm-it not only bypassed the "Yes/No" prompt from symantec, but also bypassed the uninstall pwd!! I got an error from msiexec saying error code 0, but the machine was free from symantec
    reg keys commonly used by symantec;

    Good Luck!
