How to write -R[CACHE] to the registry

Anyone know how to write the string -R[CACHE] to the registry

If i leave it as it is, i will get -R, when the value is written.

    -R[\CACHE] will give me -R[\CACHE]

I thought the following would work
-R[\[CACHE]] but that gives me -R[\]

    TIA
    Barry.
