View Full Version : Finish Dialog Box

I was wondering why when I install on some machines and it gets to the end of the installation why sometimes it will just give the dialog box that says finished and other times it will give the dialog box to restart the computer for the program to run correctly. When I was using the project wizard I chose the dialog box to say it was finished when it was done installing, not to restart. All the computers are also using Windows 2K I don't understand why it would be different for some. Does anyone have any ideas?

I bet your source has a call to SdFinishEx(). Read abot that function in the help file and you will understand why that is happening...

Your source probably does not have the call to SdFinish itself, but is called in an event handler of InstallShield.

It asks to reboot because one or more files that was to be installed were locked by some process in the running computer. These files will be installed when the computer restarts.
