Is there a way to have one of the merge modules install by version (vomus) even though the main project is set to "vamus" (vamus = reinstall all files without checking version)? The reason being, this one merge module contains a bunch of OCX's, third party VB controls, that I wouldn't want to overwrite newer versions of on a target machine.

Thanks!

This functionality may only be performed if the files contained within the merge module have been wrapped in a separate installer. The merge module becomes part of the parent package and therefore is subject to the same rules as all of the other included files.

Boy what I really need is whay Installshield 5.x had...

Each component had a property which the choices were
ALWAYSOVERWRITE
NEVEROVERWRITE
OVERWRITEBYVERSION
OVERWRITEBYDATE
OVERWRITEBYVERSION/DATE

Basically you were allowed to specify overwrite status on a component basis! Now you can only do it for the whole project??

This is a limitation of the Windows installer service, which is used to perform the Install in all editions of the Developer product. This functionality is still available in the Pro series products.
