Starting the Setup.exe generated by Installshied Developer 7 (7.02) on Windows XP ends up in an error 1607:
Unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime.

What is going wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your answer but I was administrator while starting the setup.

In the meanwhile I found the problem.
If the setup is started from out a drive mapped by <subst t: E:\Data\> the it will not work.
If thesetup is directly started from out E:\data it works.

Has anybody a ´n idea why the behavior is like that?`

I have seen that problem too. I found that building an installation with the scripting runtime embedded into the setup.exe will resolve this problem.
Hope this is fixed in 7.03.

I got this problem too after upgrading Developer from version 7.02 to 7.03. I have administrative privileges but I thought this shouldn't be even necessary anymore with 7.03.

Installing a setup (which was built with 7.03) into my test machine (Clean NT4+SP6+Access2000 from image) always ends up in an error 1607: Unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime.

Using commands:
C:\winnt\system32\cacls "C:" /E /G Everyone:F
cacls "C:\winnt\installer" /T /E /G Everyone:F
helps and scripting runtime can be installed and setup completed but this don't resolve the actual problem.

Any ideas, please?
