Sorry for this beginner's post but I'm having problems installing our application from a demo. When the button is clicked calling a Launch Application action (setup.exe) a message pops up saying software must be installed through Control Panels. What am I doing wrong?

Application Name - setup.exe
Set current working directory? Yes
Application Command Line - (blank)
Wait for the application to end? - Yes
Message to display if application not found - None

Demo files and all setup files are in the CD root directory (no folders).

Thanks for any help.

Ken,

A couple of quick suggestions to try:

Change "set current working directory" to No
Change "wait for application to end" to No

This might be causing the problem for some reason.

Do you see this message when you run the install outside of DemoShield?

I also want to mention DemoShield Tokens. You should probably have the <path> tokens around your setup.exe (so it looks like: <path>setup.exe<path>). This tells DemoShield to look for the setup.exe in the same folder as the DemoShield Player (demo32.exe). Because you have all of your files on the root of the CD, this isn't causing a problem. However, you may want to become familiar with using Tokens in case you ever create a demo where you have files in separate folder and need to reference a relative path. We have a Knowledge Base article on this subject: Q105484 (http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=Q105484) , INFO: DemoShield Tokens.

I look forward to hearing from you.
