So - how can I use Installshield that came with Delphi 2.0 to make an
install foir the Delphi 1.02 that came with it. Unfortunately I have a
customer that wants a program for Win 3.11 and it uses the BDE.
Installshield insists on trying to use the 32 bit BDE. I need a
workaround or fix FAST!
Thanks!

I don't know, but I'm eager to find out. As far as I can tell, the
answer is, "Do it manually!".

I am having the same problem.

The IS Express that came with Delphi 2.0 can only create 32-bit
installations. To create 16-bit installations, you must use IS Express
Pro. A free evaluation copy is on our web site.

I also have the same problem.
We developed a program around Win3.11/Win95a and at the moment the
Installshield Express builds the disk set quite fine.
However, during the download (on the computer to be installed with our
program), then install routine has two error message :
1. Check your access rights, and
2. Gen. File Transfer Error, Download Terminated.

I am using ISExpress for VC++ with no VC++ options checked, on a 32-bit Win
95B platform.
The funny thing is, when I use ISExpress for VC++ on a 16-bit platform it
cannot compress the files for the disk set because of the size of the
program files.

What I need is an install shield express for the 16-bit Delphi 1.0
environment.
I need it by Noon on Monday 25th August 1997!!!!! ( Its High Noon for Me
:-} )
Can anybody help me.

Hello there,

The following is of importance to you:

InstallShield Express ce for Delphi 2.x/3.x is a 32-bit Install environment
only. This means that Express ce will run on 32-bit only and will DEPLOY on
32-bit only.

You will have to buy InstallShield Express 2.x. It allows you to select the
Project Platform as 16-bit or 32-bit.

Since Delphi 2.x and Delphi 3.x are 32-bit exclusively it wouldn't make
sense to allow you to make 16-bit installations.

You can download an InstallShield Express 2.x Evaluation version from the
InstallShield website at http://www.installshield.com.

Just select "Products", then the "Eval Software" link at the top of the
Express page. Then select InstallShield Express from the list and fill in
the form.

The URL is as follows:
http://www.installshield.com/products/evals/default.asp

Enjoy :)
