View Full Version : IS Express Delphi not installing files

NewsArchive

Hi

IS Express Delphi edition - off the Delphi 2.0 CD - is not installing
all the files specified in my groups.

I have double-checked and double-checked, the files should definitely be
being included.

Has anyone else ever run into the same problem, and if so what can be
done about it?

I have tried removing the files from the setup and adding them again,
but nothing wants to work.

I am desperate, thank you.

Do you get any errors or warnings during the disk build process? Are the
files you specify in your groups on your development system?

Hmm...Really?
"Subject: Re: Version 6.02 is being shipped - where's the maintenance pack?

Yes, the MP will be called MP3 and will update the product to 6.03 version.
It contains all the fixes from 6.02 plus some additional fixes. It will be
available this week."

So is there a date set for the release of 6.04? Or will it go straight to 6.1?

Does this download also update the international versions? I have
InstallShield 2000 Pro West.

I've applied for the update download yesterday afternoon, but at this time I
haven't received yet any email telling me how to download it... And I cannot
apply for the update again, because the system believes I've already
upgraded...

Ideas?

I assume that many people are requesting the update these days, somaybe you
just have to be patient.
Or you can contact their sales department

AFAIK it will work with the English version as well as the International
West and East editions.
It will not work with the German and Japanese editions. Those have localized
IDEs and help files. Translation will probably take a few weeks.

The code for the sd dialogs is not included.
Sample projects (for Visual Studio) for custom dialogs (welcome, password)
have already been included in version 6.0.

Here is some info I got straight from InstallShield on the international
packs and IS 6.1:

"The way to get the upgrade to the international version is to wait
until they are available, which should be Friday of this week."

Well, I've copied all of the dll's from that directory to the directory
where I am putting ISCab and it still wont extract. Must be a dll
registered in the System32 directory or something. Is there another way to
extract certain files early in a setup (before all the dialog).

I don't know of one, as such.

Normally what you do is to place those files, or copies of them, into
your Setup Files directories, say Language Independent, Operating System
Independent, and then XCopyFile() or CopyFile() them from SUPPORTDIR.

Otherwise, you could put them in Setup Files, Advanced, Disk 1 and the
copy them from SRCDIR.
