VB6 frontend
Access 2000 backend db

There are many threads asking how to create this setup using Express. All vary in their methods. Some include the MDAC merge modules, some run run mdac_type.exe after the installation.

I am also having problems with msadox.dll, msjro.dll, and msado15.dll. I don't think these should be included, even though the scan includes them.

Can someone give a final answer on how we should do it !

TIA
John

I did a search at the Microsoft DLL help database (http://support.microsoft.com/servicedesks/fileversion/dllinfo.asp?fr=0) and found that these are files distributed with MDAC. So if you are distributing the MDAC module you do not need these files in your setup. You can get the scanners to ignore these files by entering them in iswiscan.ini located in C:\Program Files\InstallShield\InstallShield Express\Support

We only add the merge module MDAC 2.6. We do not add the DLLs related to ADO that have been dynamically scanned.

The application works properly with Access 2000 and ORACLE 8.0

We do not include the msdart.dll. But that is may be because we do not need it.

msdart.dll is another file distributed with MDAC. For a complete list of files that MDAC installs, please see the following link:
