I have an end user trying to install my application, and they get the
foolowing error when launching the install:

"Error extracting support files, parameter is incorrect"

I have searched the knowledgebase and have tried the following steps:
- deleting the engine directory
- searching for the existence of STDOLE.TLB (it exists)
- haveing them try and delete the log file from the "InstallShield
Installation Information" directory. There was no such log for this
install.

Any help you could offer would be great. I would like ot resolve this
as soon as possible. This customer is gettking pretty antsy.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Which OS is the user running?

I can only suggest the following:
1) Delete the whole subfolder for the GUID of your install in Installshield
Intallation Information
2) delete the \program files\common files\installshield\engine\6 folder
3) copy install files to hard drive (if they're on CD)

P.S. that should be stdole32.tlb not stdole.tlb.

Ted.

All of the suggested options have been tried...

I guess I'll have to call InstallShield Support...

Thanks Ted.
