I've been using 6.22 for a year. I also use Source Safe or VCS to version
control the sources. All files are checked out read only, the default
behavior of all version control systems.

In the IS IDE 6.22, if you tried to modify a read only file the IDE would
ask if you wanted to change the attribute and continue the modification. A
perfectly normal way of handling that in any IDE.

I just upgraded to 6.31, and it appears that IS has broken the IDE. It now
just complains that the file(s) are read only with the warning that you may
screw yourself if you continue. There is no way that I can see to make the
IDE behave as the 6.22 version did.

Why did you guys break this and where's the fix?
