Hello,

I use IS 7.01, just upgraded from 7.0 to 7.01 with the service pack.
When I try to install my setup on the same machine I compile, I get the
error : 1628 - Failed to complete insttalation. I found a notice on this
error on InstallSite.org. It says a register key should be change. I did
and I still get the error. If I install my setup on any other computer, it
works perfectly. But when I install it on the computer use to compile de
setup, I get the error. This the end on the log file:

Someone know what'S the problem???

Thank you

The below was previously posted here by Rich Aquino responding to a post
similar to yours. You said that you tried changing a registry key as
suggested by a post on installshield.org -- Rich suggests deleting a key.
Hope it helps.

Steve

The problem is probably that the installation log file (ILG) is missing.
Normally, these are created in C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation
Information\GUID. Perhaps it was accidentally deleted. If so, all you have
to do is go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Insta
llShield Uninstall Information

Find the GUID for your product and delete the key. Make sure it's your
guid. The next time you run the installation, it should work.

This problem will be fixed in version 7.02.

It's also possible that you do not have rights to update this log file.
