View Full Version : Error: Illegal operation...

When running any Installshield Express Professional installation, either
in test mode or from the diskettes, I get a fatal error right after the
message "ApplicationX is setting up the Installshield wizard..." The
error is "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down."

Technical support had no answers for me and I can't get any installation
program to work at all. What can I try next.

PS - No other program is running when I try running the installation,
and my temp directory is empty.

Run scandisk on source files and target system. Close all applications
including anti-virus. Use a standard display driver. If running on
Win32s, remove _ISDEL.EXE. Run installation on another system. If it
works, compare the two systems to see what might be causing the GPF.

I too have been getting this error, The description I get for this
error is;

Setup is unable to find installation languages in
d:\sqlsetup\disk1\setup.lid file.

Error 105.

This is on the second PC I have tested my setup on, a 3.11 machine.
The NT machine worked fine.
