Last night I encountered a very, very strange problem with ISX that
comes with Delphi 2 Developer (which had worked very well up to now): I
included about 730 Files for an installation (mostly HTML files and
GIF's). When I executed the installation on my NT 4.0 developement
machine, it worked like it should. When I tried to install on my Win 95
Test machine, something strange happened: The installation started, but
no dialog box (Previous/Next etc.) appeared; after a few seconds, there
came the usual messages like "updating registry" etc. and then it was
finished. No software was installed but the application was listed under
Software/Control Panel. After MANY tries I noticed, that when I removed
some of the installation files (namely GIF's), the installation suddenly
worked again, also under Win 95 on my test machines. At last I ended up
with 713 files. I could'nt figure out why it worked with some files and
with some not. They are all OK and readable and in preceding releases
(which had less total files) they also were used and worked well. Now
does anybody have an idea what THIS MESS is about???
Thanks a lot,
