I have an application which is to connect to personal oracle 7. I have
created an installation program using ISX Delphi 3.0 Edition, and have
been
unable to figure out how to alter the default vendor init & server name
strings for the native oracle driver.

I have found that the sql_ora.cnf file in the ISX redist directories has
the
strings which I want to change, but when I do (using a hex editor), the
bde
fails to setup properly when my installation is run.

Without being able to change these, I must have my users go into
bdeadmin
after install & alter the native oracle driver setup (& this is risky
business given that my users have considerable trouble using windows
explorer!!)

Can anyone help me with my problem.??

Regards,
Dale.
