I am hoping that anyone might have some insight to what this problem
might be. It's a shot in the dark but I am desperate. According to
Microsoft Knowledge base it claims that we are missing DLLs or that they
are not registered properly. How can I tell what the proper registry
entries are?

We have been having a problem installing a VB 4.0 application which
consists of one form with two label controls, two button controls and a
combo box control (Crescent control - CSCOMB32.OCX). The application
works just fine on my machine. We then remove all unnecessary
references & custom controls from the project, save it and create the
...EXE. I then proceed to use InstallShield Express and/or InstallShiel
Express 2.01 to create the installation disks.

The following system files are recognized by InstallShield as the ones
to deliver, install and update (we forced the files to be delivered and
overwritten which gave the same results).

vb40032.dll
ven2232.olb
msvcrt20.dll
msvcrt40.dll
ctl3d32.dll
olepro32.dll
sscta32.ocx
cscomb32.ocx

This is also consistant with the list of files that should be delivered
with the .EXE that we received from you.

When we run the application that was just installed, it gives us the
dreaded error# 31037, "Error loading from file" message box.

The big question remains....

WHAT IS IT THAT WE ARE MISSING???????

I am not yelling just perplexed. We have been at this for over two
weeks now and we are getting no where. Any help will greatly be
appreciated. We will be willing to e-mail you the disk images so that
you may install them yourself to verify the results.

The one difference that we observed on the machines we are installing to
is that the target machines have Office '95 installed and the machines
that we are running and building from have Office '97 installed. Does
this ring a bell?

Thanks for anything that you can do for us in advance!
