View Full Version : BDE problems

I hope someone can help me or steer me in the right direction.

I am having trouble installing a BDE with win95, Delphi and IS5pro.

Copied BDE white paper into my test install - seems to work fine till the
PostBDEInstall routine where first it can not find a string @MSG_INIT

SdShowMsg(@MSG_INIT,TRUE);

which I think is not serious

Then it can not find the IDAPI..CFG file which is at the location
mentioned. There are two variable in the example code on the Bdeinst.rul
file.

szsCPath = szConfigPathIn;

szsCNF = SUPPORTDIR ^ BDE_CFG_INST_FILE;
if ( Is( FILE_EXISTS, szsCNF ) != TRUE ) then // {changed from
szsCNF no difference}

MessageBox( CNF_FILE_MISSING + szsCPath, SEVERE );

I have already found some minor erros in this white paper - does anyone
know if this is an error or not?

Gettring desparate here - went to ISX lite that came with delphi to install
the bde - seemes to work fine on W95 install
But I wish to install win 3.1 bde as well as that - is what the majority of
my users are working in! One problem for me in w95 set up is what do I
set the registry keys as?

Can anyone help me with an example script for installing the BDE both 95
and 3.1 versions.

PLEASE help me if you can - spent nearly a thousand dollars on this
program and it is powerfull - I just need to master the installing of
borland BDE.

Thanks.... I will try it today. Hope there are instructions with it. Do you
have an idea when that update will be available?
