View Full Version : IS deleting dll ?

After installing our vb app built with IS 1.11, we have seen that the dll
msvcirt.dll is being delete from the windows\system dir. Any idea why IS
is doing this ?

Check if the following suggestion helps...

The MSVCRT40.DLL file included in the REDIST is the wrong file. It depends
on other files. You should use the file that's in your windows\system
directory. You should then copy it to the REDIST directory.

If the user is running NT4 and he includes the copy MSVCRT40.DLL in his
system directory, he will CAUSE not fix the problem mentioned!

I've had the same problem with one of my 32 bit apps. Once I install it
and try to run Netscape, I get the message that MSVCIRT.dll can't be
found. I checked on another machine and the file existed before my
install. If I copy the file back to my WinSys dir the problem goes away.
Any suggestions, I'm stuck on this one.
