View Full Version : Adding ICONs in Program Group for showing HLP and TXT files

My setup is delivering a .HLP file and a README.TXT file in the
<INSTALLDIR> application directory.

I want to automatically add two ICONs to my program group:

a. the standard ? ICON to invoke WINHELP.EXE with myhelp.HLP as the
parameter

b. the standard ICON to invoke NOTEBOOK.EXE with my README.TXT as
the parm

I am using Express 1.0 and the manual section called "General Settings"
implies this cannot be done. I've tried with no success.

Can anyone suggest how to do this ?
Thanks in advance.

John,

Express 1.0 only had the functionality to create icons for executables
that were included with your installation. Express 1.1 added the ability
to enter any command line for your icons, so they can call executables
not included with your setup (like Notepad.exe or Winhelp.exe). Send
a request to password@installshield.com to receive instructions for
downloading the upgrade.
