I have attempted to create a 16-bit install for a VB program(VB4/16)
using InstallShield Express Pro. Running the install on the target 16
bit machines generates the following error after "InstallShield is
preparing ..."

ISINST30 caused a GPF in module _INS0433._MP at 0006:131B

Jesse:

I too tried installing a 16-bit VB 4.0 app (that was built on a
Win95 box) on a 16-bit target (running Win3.1) and got a similar
GP Fault message:

Application Error
ISINST30 caused a GPF in module _ISREG16.DLL at 0001:0008

The _ISREG16.DLL is one of the uninstall-related files that is
supposed to be installed for 16-bit apps if one checks the
Automatic Uninstaller box in the Features tab of the
Set the Visual Design dialog box. In searching for it on
the target, I found it in a subdir called c:\dos\_istmp0.dir,
along with 19 other files. These files are consuming almost 1.5 MB.
Is this subdir supposed to remain after the installation is complete?
