We are evaluating the Install Shield Express Professional V 1.0

We have found that the uninstall process asks if we want to remove the
file MSVCRT20.DLL.

We currently create new builds of our application frequently and for QA
purposes Instal/Remove often. Sometimes (almost always) The uninstall
asks if we want to remove MSVCRT20.DLL because it is not being used by
any applications.

According to Microsoft this is a Visual C runtime library and is used by
lots of applications. Microsoft specifies it as a system file which
should never be removed under any circumstances.

I have heard that this particular file should not increment the registry
and in most cases the Uninstall wants to remove it.

Can you shed some light on this and what we can do to prevent this from
ocurring. Is this a problem, can it/will it be fixed?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

Peter,

Unfortunately, this is a limitation of InstallShield Express. We are
aware of this issue and we are working on a way to resolve this.

However, this will not occur with InstallShield3. You can set your
installation such that it will never uninstall core system files.
