View Full Version : Problem saving with the automation interface.

I have been attempting to use the automation interface to maniuplate my
project. I can successfully open and manipulate the project, but have
problems when attempting to save it. After much work, I have boiled my code
down to about 3 lines, but cannot see why it doesn't work. Any hints would
be appreciated.

Here is my code:

Dim proj As New ISWiProject
proj.OpenProject pathname, False
proj.SaveProject

It generates the following error:

Run-time error '1002':
Automation error
> ISWiAutomation.ISWiProject.SaveProject

Jeremy Richards:

I created a simple VB project with your code below, and was able to open and
save a project with no problems. Does it throw this error if you open a
different project? Also, what version of Developer 7 are your using (7.0,
or 7.01).

Thanks,
Mike Marino

I just tried it with a trivial InstallShield standard workspace (only the
default stuff that is created when you select New from the File menu) that
I just created, as well as a trivial VB app that I wrote. I am using
InstallShield 7.01 on Windows 98 SE.
