View Full Version : InstallScript engine missing, even after running ISScript.msi

We just stumbled across the following problem on one of our testing machines
(NT4 SP6).
When running the setup, the installer needs to be installed and during this,
the following message is displayed:
"1: The InstallScript engine is missing from this machine. If available,
please run ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further
assistance.".
Of course at this time they try the ISScript.msi that is present and still
get this message.
Rebooting and trying again did not help.
Now they turn to me, but I have no clue as why ISScript.msi is not
installing itself.
Am I overlooking the obvious or what? I hope someone else does have a clue
and can share it with me.
Thank you,
Eric-Paul

Eric :
Is this a fresh install or a patch being applied to a already installed
application ?

Ravneet, this is a fresh install on a system where apparently MSI has not
been installed before.
