My installer application built with IA 2014 SP1 (including Hotfix A from 9/30/15) gets a Fatal Application Error on Windows 10 64-bit.

The installer is built without a JVM included.

The installer works when the JRE installed on the system is 1.8.0_51 or earlier. It fails when the JRE installed on the system is 1.8.0_60 or 1.8.0_66.

The Details... from the Fatal Application Error shows:

The only workaround seems to be to include a VM in the installer package.

Specifying the LAX_VM on the installer command line still gets the error.

Setting the PATH environment variable to include the path to the installed JRE (and removing Oracle\Java\javapath) still gets the error.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?
