Hello Sir,
We have an Application designed with Visual Basic 6.0 where most coding was done with Stored Procedure so which is making it easier to move to any Version of SQL Server.
Now out intention is to re-develop the setup kit so that users with Vista/XP can install and use smoothly.
Our problems is creating a SetUp Package that will install the VB 6.0 Application, test existence/install SQL Server 2005/2008 Express, Install .Net Framework/Windows Installer prerequisite for SQL Server, Crystal Report 9.0 Components as well as other Microsoft required components.
Thank

Hi,

we deploy vb6 application with InstallShield Express for years. Our application is also based on Microsoft SQL-Server and it has never been easier to deploy the prerequisits as in ISX 20009.

For SQL Server you can use the SQL-Server 2005 prerequisite as a basis. If needed you can add your own command line parameters (instance name or custom security settings) to the .prq file (or even create your own prq file with its own prerequisiste name).

Installer and vb6 runtime environment can be included using merge modules, etc. also...

Do you have a specific issue?

Michael
