View Full Version : [INSTALLDIR] and trailing backslash

I'm using the evaluation copy of IS Express 12 to see if it can convert our older version of ISE scripts. I've been more or less successful, however I'm running into a large problem with the registry keys. I set [INSTALLDIR] to one of the registry key values, however [INSTALLDIR] is now using a trailing backslash when it previously did not. This is a big problem since our application reads this key all over the place and expects to be in the old format. Is there a way to change [INSTALLDIR] to not have a trailing backslash?

Windows Installer pads a trailing backslash at the end during directory resolution (read: CostFinalize action (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa368048.aspx)). You will need to author a custom action, say VBScript CA, to remove it. You may want to do a search in the forums, at Support (http://support.installshield.com/), and at InstallSite (http://www.installsite.org/) for existing code.
