View Full Version : MsgBox revisited

I really need to get the MsgBox vb function to work correctly. I tried cricumventing it by using a combination of installscript and vbscript but that is really too cumbersome.

Here is the issue...

I am developing on Windox XP. I have a vbscript custom action where the code is contained inside of the custom action. It looks like this:

MsgBox "Test"

This custom action appears after the InstallWelcome dialog.

Heres the issue: On my dev Windows XP box, the message box appears and I can click on the OK button. The box then disappears and the next dialog displays. However, I can not click on the next dialog nor can I click on anything ( start button, taskbar, other apps, etc ). I have to hit CTL-ALT-DEL and then focus returns to the installer and everything is normal. This does not occur on other Windows XP boxes.

Anyone have any ideas of why this occurs?

Control Escape seems to work as well. Additionally WshShell.Popup behaves normally so I guess I will just use that.
