Let me try this again...

When I try to run the Custom Action Wizard in VS 2005 Integration, the IDE hangs and I have to kill from task manager.

Is there a workaround for this?

thanks,

Daren

Daren,

Have you had any response from Macrovision or found a solution?

I am having the very same problem. Launching the custom action wizard from Visual Studio 2005 hangs the development environment, and the only option is to kill it from the task manager.

My "workaround" is to close VS 2005 and open my project in the stand-alone IS, then create my CA there and save the project, then go back to VS 2005 and open it again. The stand-alone IS can't compile the VS 2005 project outputs, so I can't use the IS only.

Macrovision! Please help! This is a bug and needs to be fixed. I paid a LOT of money for VS 2005 integration, and it is extremely buggy.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to run it up the support flagpole. I've done the same as you, work around by using the IS IDE instead of the visual studio integration. I haven't seen anything in the hotfixes either, so i'm sure it is still a problem.
