View Full Version : Can VBscript read an .ini file before it is installed?

I have written a VB script called as a Custom Action which runs "After Ready to Install dialog." The script needs a string value contained in an .ini file which the setup is about to install. Is there any way the VB script can be told where this .ini file exists, then open and read it? I have found no Session.property value which points to location of files contained in the setup package.

If I cannot do this, can I store the string in the InstallShield Express v11 Installation Designer someplace where it can be accessed by the VB script?

Thanks in advance if anybody can help me with this.

Hi,

I understand that your requirement is to retrieve the value of the ini file using VBScript. You can use the link below to see the properties associated with VBScript for the same.
