Now that Installshield has be swallowed whole by Macrovision,
you no longer get 30 days of free support when buy/upgrade
their products.

This stinks, particularly when an upgrade can throw your project into chaos so easily.

If you agree with me, please reply to this thread.

I agree. It would be nice to have at minimum a 30-90 day free support for upgrade or new purchases.

I agree. The 30 days support for upgrades was good insurance which I recall using at least once in three upgrades for something that turned out to be an IS buglet.

Not to mention the fact that there are a lot of items that are missing from their documentation and on line help.

Even if you call in to ask how something in the interface works that's not documented, they won't help.

That is just plain greedy.

I wasted two hours looking for a resolution to a problem caused by today's upgrade from ISX 3.54 to 11, only to eventually discover that it was a known issue back in September 2004 (yes, 2004) which still exists in October 2005 and has not been fixed!

I actually clled the sales deptartment to complain about an issue I had (and am still having). When I was told to purchase support, I complained that an inital install problem was not something I shoul be charged for, and they gave me a log-in to the support center.

I have been trying to correct this problem for over a month now, but at least I am getting support help on the issue.

Good Luck.
