Hi,

I'm a newbie to IS, but I couldn't figure this out by Googling so I ended up posting it here.

I'm working on a setup project that includes .NET Framework. The problem is this, if I include it in the setup it runs the .NET part even if .NET is already installed in the target system. Is there a way to make it pop the question and possibly install dotnetfx only if it is not already installed ?

That would seem like a reasonable feature...

You should only be prompted if some portion of .NET is supported by your install settings, but is not installed. The most common case for this is if you support multiple language packs, but only one of them is present on the target machine.

I noticed this also when I upgraded to IS-11 from IS-X. Tech support told me it was due to .NET SP1 used in IS-11.

OK, It was the fact that InstallShield wants to install .NET Framework SP1 on the machine that caused the question. The question was just a bit confusing :)
