Hallo Everybody,

I have some questions. Maybe somebody can help me:

1. How to put the .net assembly Version in the Title of the Installation.
2. I have input parameters to the setup.exe and depending to this parameters should only some files be installed or directories be created

Thank you

1. If you want to display the product version, you can use [ProductVersion] in the dialog box captions.

2. You can set public property values from the command line and then use the custom property value in a feature or component condition.

Thank You Robert.

My Problem is that I want to read the Version from the .net assembly automatic and put it in the installation Title.

I thought that it might be possible if I can use an .net assembly in the installation routine, read the Version and write it with the installscript

if you want to read the custom action you need the file to read it. So unless you put the files in a non-compressed nature on the install medium it won't happen.

You probably will have to write a custome C# aplication, or something akin, in this case you can update the property that has the dialog title before you build the installer.

this will be easier if you have an automated build process.
