View Full Version : Using "ISSQLServerInstall" action

I'm trying to use the "ISSQLServerInstall" action in order to execute my SQL script at the end of my setup.
I added the following sentences, but am getting error no. 2762 at the same point that the action is executed:

If (nvStartCopyResult = NEXT)&& bDBSel= TRUE then
nDBAction = MsiDoAction(ISMSI_HANDLE,"ISSQLServerInstall"); :confused:

I also tried inserting this action into the UI Sequence, but it only made the error to come at the beginning of the setup (so i removed it).
Can someone please help me understand what am I doing wrong? have I had to do something in the sequence or actions fields?
Thanks a head, :(

This is happening because ISSQLServerInstall is a deferred Action and you are calling it outside the boundaries of InstallInitialize and InstallFinalize in the Execute Sequence. You can try changing the action to immediate execution but this is probably not optimal if you want a rollback on error option.
