I have an application which consists of a client and a server part. The server part depends on COM+.

I want to add a system search for COM+ in my installation. When COM+ is not installed the user will not be able to install the server part of the application.

Can anyone tell which file or registry key to check to see if COM+ is installed.

COM+ is an integral part of the OS in Windows 2000 and later, so you should be able to simply check if the OS is Win 2k or later...

you could look at HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\COMSysApp to see it's configuration. Here you can check to see if it is autostart/disabled, etc.

You can also check to see if the service is running, if that is what is necessary for your installation.
