Hi my isntall makes an ODBC connection to a .mdb database. It works fine on XP and Windows 98. However, when I run the installation on NT4 ServicePack 6 I get the following error:

Error 1918. Error installing ODBC driver Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb), ODBC error 13: Could not load the setup or translator library. Verify that the file Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) exists and that you can access it.

My project contains the MDAC 2.8 merge module and the error occurs whether I install MDAC on the machine first or not.

As I say, this only occurs on NT4. Any clues?

Hi, for those that want to know - it appears that including the Jet 4.0 merge module fixes this problem.

I was also having this problem, but found Jet 4.0 didn't solve the problem.
What I did find is that it was actually MSVCRT.DLL that was missing for my ODBC driver.
Checking the dependancies of the DLL's that are installed for your drivers should show if something is missing (using DEPENDS.EXE from VC6); for me including the VC6 run-time solved the problem but for others that will depend on the language used to build the particular ODBC driver
