Hey guys, this is really hard for me to explain but im going to try my best.

All's I want is this:

User opens setup.exe it asks them a question: "What is your name?" I then want to add a few registry keys that inlcude their name that they just entered. is this going to be possible with InstallShield 11 Premier? This installer does other things but you guys make them so easy i dont need help with them.

Thanks

Michael

For a Basic MSI project, find the dialog box you want, and drop an Edit control on it. When you add the control, InstallShield asks you for the name of a property to associate with the control; type an all-caps name such as the built-in property USERNAME. (If you decide to use the standard CustomerInformation dialog box, it already uses the built-in property USERNAME.)

In one of the registry views, use the expression [USERNAME] where you want the user's name to be plugged in, and at run time it will be expanded to whatever the user typed in your edit field.
