Currently, our install has a list of MSI packages (files) in the [SOURCEDIRECTORY]. The main (active) MSI needs to read the list of MSI packages for the ProductName and present it to the user who can choose what MSI packages he wants to install.
I have seen examples where I can get the ProductName from the current MSI package. (either using Session.Property("ProductName") or using a VBScript that uses a SELECT statement). But I am not sure how I can read the ProductName of another MSI package.
Thanks in advance.

You can call MsiOpenDatabase from an executable, but the MSI Help Library lists it as a function that can't be called from a custom action...
