I recently created a (very simple) InstallScript project for internet deployment (using InstallShield 10.5). I used InstallScript rather than BasicMSI so I could skin the install. I am working on under Windows 2003 Server. When I published the completed build (including setup.htm created for me) to a website on my machine, I encountered a runtime error 6002.

Although this error has been reported in a number of other posts, none of them provided a precise solution to the problem I was having (although this (http://community.installshield.com/showthread.php?t=119265&highlight=6002) comes pretty close). The key point mentioned in this post is that IIS 6.0 (which is present on Win 2003) is locked-down more than previous versions of IIS (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326965). When I deployed my build to a machine running XP the install works correctly. Examination of the MIME map for IIS6 shows that some of the files created by the build have extensions not present in the MIME map. Adding new MIME types in IIS6 (either at the machine or website level) for extensions ibt, hdr (application/octet stream) and ini (text/plain) cured the problem.
