View Full Version : Installing difrece File with same name in Win98 and WinXP

I need to install different version of EXE file with same name
The file is different version in Win98 and different in WinXP

Is it possible to control the witch file will be install in each OS ?

You can check the Operating System with the use of property

You may want to create two components in your install. In one component put your .exe which is for the Windows 98 operating system. In the other component put your .exe which is for the Windows XP operating system. Now for both components, set the “Operating Systems” property appropriately for each of the two components you created, so that the proper .exe will be installed based on the operating system.

I create new 2 components as said
were in IS10.5 i can configure in which OS it belong ?

Make sure the “View List” is shown (it is toggled on and off by using F4). Expand the Organization section and click on Components. Now in the middle window, which should now be displaying your components, click on a component that contains your .exe. Now in the right window you should be seeing the properties for the component you clicked on. Select the “Operating Systems” property and make the appropriate changes for your install. Now do the same for the other component that contains your other .exe.
