View Full Version : DeinstallSetReference not needed in 10.5?

I'm working with conversion of an old Installpackage from ver 5.1 Pro to 10.5 Pro. The old script has functionality that checks if files that should be uninstalled is in use. If so, uninstallation will not proceed. It uses the DeinstallSetReference function.

I have a feeling that this is not needed because the MSI handles this automatically?

Right: for a project using MSI, the Windows Installer service and the FilesInUse dialog box handle this; for pure InstallScript, you can use code (say, Is(FILE_LOCKED, ...) or OnFileLocked) in your uninstallation script to handle this in a specific way, if you want.
