I need to make a registry change to the Path key in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment. The change would be to append or prefix the installation folder, [INSTALLDIR] to the existing string.

Can this be done in X-Express?

Thanks,
Glen

I dont know Express well, but in regular installshield this is done with EnvironmentVariables under System Configuration.

If this doesnt exist then you can do the registry manipulation probably, but realize you also need to call SendMessage to broadcast the settings change. This is really old school ISPro5 approach.

That worked. By making the append through the Environment Variables, the registry was indirectly updated.

Thanks for the help.
