Hi,
I'm using a basic MSI project. When I Build and run a new version, I get the "This setup will perform an upgrade of 'XXX'...".
But it doesn't update existing files, it only adds new ones that I added to the install.

How can I make it overwrite exiting files and update them?

You probably are distributing new versions of files without updating the version numbers when you build the files. MSI will look at this and during costing determine they don't need to be upgraded.

Hi,
Each time I create a version I change the productVersion. It even changes the version in the Add/Remove progrs, but it doesn't update files.
Do I need to change anything else? Do I need to change something in the files properties in the Components view?

Thanks

I'm talking about the version resources of your actualy files, not your MSI project.

The files are regular XML and JScript files. They have no versions. The text in them is being changed.

Hi,

Just try with REINSTALLMODE=vomus. I believe this should work.

what is the type of upgrade you are creating?
