I am trying to get my SQL scripts to work.
I created a test installation with just a SQL Connection, and a SQL script.
When i run the install, the SQL script is called, but fails.

use master
go

create database 'TestSQLDB2'
go

That's the script. When i run profiler against it, the create database line is called, and then

select * from
create database 'TestSQLDB2'

gets called. I have no idea where the select * from comes from.... it is something InstallShield is running.. This causes the installation to fail with a

Error 27506. Error executing SQL script sqlscript1. Line 17.
Line 2:Incorrect syntax near 'TestSQLDB2'.

This code runs just fine from query analyzer.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Daren

Hi

in my case: the problem disappeared replacing the comments of the form /* coment */ to --comment in the create procedure statements.

There must be some problem withe the comments: ALL the comments disappeared !!!

Do a search in support and community for Hotfix .. there is a patch that fixes this.

Ah, you have -27506 not -27505, my mistake. Did you try the latest hotfix atleast? Maybe it'll help.

How do you search work orders?

The work order #1-VFA92 has been fixed in InstallShield 10.5. If you still experience the failure, please send me a sample project at hyamanishi@macrovision.com. I will look into it to find out what's causing the problem.

Thank you.
