View Full Version : Re: Newbie question on playing flash file

I'm simply trying to insert and play a .swf file in the demo of DemoShield. Though I've had success with other video files...and though the .swf file plays fine in other applications..I'm evidently being thick and not getting something probably simple. I'd like the file to play off a finished CDrom by the way..not streamed. I had thought it would be rather easy as with other file types I get to browse for the file and insert...but with flash it seems to want me to type the full file address...which seems time conusming (plus it didn't work!). I do get options on the "token" button but thats it. I'd really appreciate any help here...I've tried emailing support but haven't recieved a response as of yet.

Thanks everyone!

Try saving the Flash file as a projector file (exe) - I've used the Launch Application action and it has worked for me.

I'll try that approach to flash files...

Based on your description, it appears that you are using the Streaming Media Object to play the flash movie. If thats the case, you need to provide an URL such as:

assuming the following directory structure on the CD:

- CD Root
- MyMovies <folder>
- Blah.swf
- Bin <folder>
- demo32.exe
- demo.dbd
