Hi there,

How do you go about creating a masked edit control in InstallScript MSI project.
I tried creating 2 edit controls. Then checked the length of string entered in the first. If it exceeds a number, then I try to set the focus on the next edit box. This approach has failed. As you might have figured out this is to accept a Product ID.

May its that I am unable to find it, but such a control should have been there in installshield....

Any help would be great.

Right, MaskedEdit controls are used only for MSI dialog boxes, and not InstallScript dialog boxes.

For an example that mimics the MaskedEdit control, perhaps see the "Example Custom Password Dialog" sample that ships with InstallShield 10.5; clicking "Browse sample projects" on the "get started" window should point you to the project.

Thanks Robert.. I too figured out to do something similar.. I was worried whether my implementation was clumsy and whether there was a better way to do it... It seems like I did it the right way..
