I've been using an old version of InstallShield Express ( Vers 2.13) for some time now, but feel it's time to upgrade. Sadly it seems that some of the things we could do with Ver 2.13 are no longer easily available, mainly the following...

Installing to a directory relative to the [SETUPEXEDIR]. We do this in 2.13 by specifying <SRCDIR>\..\..

Also setting up shortcuts to EXE's in <SRCDIR>\..\.. (That have been previously installed )

[SETUPEXEDIR]..\.. gets resolved when writing to the registry, but I can't seem to use it as a destination folder.

Does anyone know of a way of achieving this with Installshield X Express Vers 10.

Many Thanks.

hi,

I do have somehow the same problem !

I didn't found in installShield X Express a property to the setupexedir !!

So I tried to put has a directory in my custom action directly the path
like
"App1\Subdir1"
and a filename after like "app.exe".

it does work under XP but not under win2000 ... (network drive not found)

so I don't know
