Hi,
Is it possible to get sql runtime error message, generated after calling ISSQLServerInstall custom action and save it into property in Basic MSI Project?
I need this to show sql error message and continue installation. InstallShield 10.5 in SQL Scripts View allows to handle sql errors, but if 'On Error, Go to Next Script' option is selected the message is not displayed.

Thanks,
Olga.

Unfortunately, InstallShield just writes an SQL scripting error to an MSI log when you select 'On Error, Go to Next Script' or 'On Error, Go to Next Statement' option. I submitted the work order #1-1176FG to address this issue in a future release.

Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for quick response. But I have two more questions:
1. Where is the default location of MSI log? May be I just can read errors from the log file for example using VB script?
2. When new release is planning?

Thanks,
Olga.

To generate a MSI log, you need to run the command line:

Setup.exe /v"/l*v c:\MyLog.txt"

Also, this issue would be considered for a future release, and the date of that release has yet to be deteremined.

Thank you.

Hi,
Any news about #1-1176FG ?
Same olechka, I need to show an sql error message (MSI Basic Install) and continue installation. Is this possible?
ISSQLScriptError table has a column named "Message". What is this for?

Thanks in advance,
Musashi
