Periodically, I see a task called ProtectionProcessorCleanup.0001 running on my system in the TEMP directory. The "Product Name" of this task is
Macrovision Europe Ltd. Cleanup. What the heck is this? I assume it has something to do with InstallShield 10.5, since it only appeared after I installed it.

The only reason I ask is that coincidentally my application started to break on this machine with security related errors. The COM+ identity account no long can launch my application and this all started happening after installing Installshield 10.5.

Does this process have anything to with NT account security???

I think this is the InstallShield application that enforces the license, such that you can only run one copy of the software on a given network subnet. The security issues I had with COM+ are unreleated to this process. Apparently, the our domain controller propagated user policy that broke my app.

Yes. Mine it Intel HT. Task manager shows 2 CPU's. FWIW, installing IS10.5, didn't break my system.
