I need to install Microsoft MDAC as part of an Installshield install. MDAC has it's own install procedure. How...or where...do I put this?

Thanks.

Wait for isx3.53 - I hope that iSX353 comes with working merge modules...
Try to use the installshield merge modules. Please download the latest version from IS.
Try to run the mdac.exe as a custom action (please check this newsgroup for details).

Check Your installation package on a clean computer with reveal from addison [http://www.addisonsw.com].

Get the windows installer SDK from ms and try to make Your own merge module with orca.

Good luck

Jurg,

GREAT RESPONSES to BOTH of my questions. Thanks!

Now, WHAT is "orca"?

Also, I'll order Reveal tomorrow! Never heard of it...and could have used it numerous times in the past.

Hi Larry,

Orca is a database editor for editing .msi and .msm files. Orca comes with the windows installer sdk. You can download this sdk for free from the microsoft website.
Try HOWTO:Use the Orca databse editor to edit windows installer files (Q255905 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q255905) ).
From my point of view its not easy to use it...
